VOICES: Those Who Wore the Shoe

What was life like for a slave? Based on actual slave narratives culled from 1934-1941 Federal Writers’ Project interviews, this mobile "staged documentary” is a live performance by two actors with archival photographs and excerpts from the Peabody Award-nominated NPR broadcast. A town hall style Q&A session follows each performance.
