Rachel Lampert is known in Ithaca as the Artistic Director Emerita at Kitchen Theatre Company where she led the company for twenty years from 1997-2017. Her first career was as a dancer/choreographer who led her company Rachel Lampert & Dancers from 1975 to 1992. During the two isolating years of the pandemic, she wrote a memoir of those seventeen years. The working title is “My Dancing Daze.” In her memoir she revisits her younger self, her choices, their consequences and what it means to make a life in the arts from her current perspective. For this event she will read excerpts from the memoir with some theatrical embellishments.
