This December in the Kitchen!

Updated: 12 minutes ago

Step into the warmth of Kitchen Theatre Company this December, where festive cheer, family fun, and heartfelt stories come together for December in the Kitchen. With events that capture the spirit of the season, there’s something special for everyone.

Join us for our annual Holiday Party on December 10 (now one night only). Get into the holiday spirit with a night full of socializing, festive bites from local restaurants, and drinks from Sheldrake Winery and Liquid State Brewing Company. Show off your decorating skills—or your sense of humor!—in our friendly decorating competition, where teams take on holiday-themed challenges with plenty of opportunities for a little audience intervention. Laughter, surprises, and holiday tunes await at this night of community and celebration, all in support of Kitchen Theatre Company.

Next, savor Comfort Food, a chamber musical from Walking on Water Productions and Fitz&Startz Productions, running December 6-8 and 13-15. Set across three kitchens, this charming show serves up a trio of heartwarming tales centered on food, family, and finding comfort. From a quirky TV cooking show host to a snack-loving junk-food enthusiast and a newly single woman cooking for one, each story offers a delicious slice of life. With performances by Emily Jackson, Achille Van Ricca, and Rachel Lampert, Comfort Food will warm your heart and bring a smile to your face.

For family-friendly fun, bring the whole crew to The Sisters Fitz&Startz: Cook with Kids, running December 7-8 and 14-15 as part of our Family Fare series. The Sisters Fitz&Startz School of Music & Dance is preparing for their big recital, but an unexpected twist has the students rolling up their sleeves and cooking alongside their singing and dancing. Bursting with humor, music, and culinary chaos, Cook with Kids is a delightful experience for audiences of all ages.

Celebrate the season with us at Kitchen Theatre Company, where December in the Kitchen brings joy, laughter, and memorable moments to the heart of Ithaca.
